Clinical
activities of the Jules Stein Eye Institute are administered jointly
by the Department of Ophthalmology and the UCLA Medical Center.
The Institute records more than 80,000 patient visits each year
from patients with all categories of eye disorders and visual system
diseases. Nationally and internationally renowned faculty representing
every ophthalmic specialty are available for consultation, specialized
testing and treatment, including tertiary care. Services are delivered
in distinctive subspecialty consultation suites, treatment centers
and clinical laboratories, as well as in specially equipped ophthalmic
surgical suites and a dedicated inpatient unit.
