The mission of the UCLA Department of Ophthalmology Association is to
garner the power of a widespread network of alumni and faculty to promote
the educational activities of the UCLA Department of Ophthalmology.
The Association supports resident and fellow training through research
grants and annual scientific meetings. The Association also sponsors a
reception at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting, allowing alumni
from around the world to renew friendships and meet the newest residents,
fellows and faculty. The UCLA Department of Ophthalmology Association funds
the resident video library, a valuable resource for resident education
that is also available to all members of the Association.
Through the Association, younger graduates of the program have
the opportunity to meet their predecessors and participate together
in the common goals of supporting the educational programs of the
Department of Ophthalmology.
