Ms. Vanden Heuvel is the editor and publisher of The Nation magazine, where she provides
an eloquent voice for progressive American values and politics.
She frequently appears on CNBC, CNN and MSNBC. She is an authority
on Russian politics. Her articles have appeared in the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times
and the New York Times. She is the co-author
of Voices of Glasnost: Interviews with Gorbachev's Reformers and editor of the anthologies, The Nation: 1865-1990
and The Best of
The Nation. Her article, "Right-to-Lifers hit Russia,"
won Planned Parenthood's Maggie Award.
In her capacity as granddaughter of the late Jules and Doris
Stein, Katrina vanden Heuvel has been a long-time supporter of the
Jules Stein Eye Institute, contributing her special talents to its
leadership. She received the distinguished Founders Award from the
Liberty Hill Foundation for her vision of social responsibility
in building a Los Angeles that reflects social and racial equality
and economic justice. |
