Casey Wasserman serves as chairman and chief
executive officer of Wasserman Media Group, LLC (WMG). Since forming
WMG in 1998, Mr. Wasserman has steadily built the company into a
powerhouse in the sports and media industries by cultivating
category-leading businesses spanning Management, Marketing and
Content.
As the number one sports talent agency in
basketball, baseball, soccer and action sports, WMG Management
represents hundreds of clients throughout the world. Recognized as
the foremost naming rights expert, WMG Marketing also handles
consulting, endorsement and sponsorship programs for the world's
most prominent sports and entertainment properties and consumer
brands. WMG Marketing was recently appointed to represent the naming
rights process for the new home of the Jets and the Giants, the New
Meadowlands Stadium.
WMG Content creates and distributes
digital, televised and live programming for consumers. Studio411,
the largest and most acclaimed action sports studio, and WMG Events,
which produces and promotes large-scale live events, are both groups
within WMG Content. Wasserman Media Group is also the holding
company for the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League
(AFL).
For his LA Avengers, Mr. Wasserman is extremely
active at the AFL level. He was elected Chairman of the League,
serves on the Executive Committee and chairs both the Negotiating
and the Expansion Committees. In 2002, Mr. Wasserman negotiated the
league's groundbreaking national television partnership with NBC and
collective bargaining agreement with its players. Both landmark
deals have paved the way for the AFL to join the top tier of sports
properties in America.
Mr. Wasserman is dedicated to
philanthropy, and is President and Chief Executive Officer of the
Wasserman Foundation, his family's private foundation. He is also a
board member of New York University, the William Jefferson Clinton
Presidential Library Foundation, the Jules Stein Eye Institute, the
Whitney Museum, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
He
has been widely acknowledged by peers and the industry for his
accomplishments. In December 2006, Mr. Wasserman became the youngest
executive to be acknowledged on Sports Business Journal's annual
"Most Influential" list.
